Fields of Scholarship and Research Interests

reasoning with incomplete information, approximate reasoning, soft computing methods and applications, rough sets, rough mereology, granular computing, intelligent systems, adaptive and  (complex) systems, perception-based computing, machine learning

Pioneering research concerning: 

(i)      Rough set  foundations  for Intelligent Systems design (e.g. methods based on combination of rough sets  with Boolean Reasoning; generalizations of approximation spaces based on advanced reasoning), 

(ii)    Interactive Granular Computing model as the basis for synthesis and analysis of Intelligent Systems dealing with complex phenomena.  

(iii)  AI foundations based on rough sets.

For decades, Andrzej Skowronvery has done intensive work for the information society (e.g. member of EB of many journals and PC of international conferences; many research projects, supervisor of many PhD theses).
