Syed Abid Ali is a full Professor in Biochemistry at the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi. He has 4 PostDoc's in Protein Science/Proteomics from Germany, UK, and Australia. He has >191 research publications, 15 patents, 22 chapters in books and authors of 3 academic books. He has >604.5 Impact factor having total citations: ~4991 and h-index: ~35. A few top journal names among publications are Current Biology, Sensors Actuators B, Spectrochimica Acta A, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, International J Mol. Sciences, J Proteomics, Molecular Cellular Proteomics, Eur. J. Med. Chem., Toxins, and Toxicon etc. He supervised 23 Ph.D. and 27 M.Phil. Students. He contributed in 62 academic conferences/ symposiums. He is currently doing research projects in the field of Nano-biotechnology, Environmental Microbiology, Bio-organic and protein chemistry using the experimental methodologies like multidimensional chromatography (HPLC/FPLC), electrophoresis (1D/2D PAGE/ DiGE), spectroscopy (UV/Vis, FTIR, DLS/Zeta, TGA, CD, Fluorescence), microscopy (AFM/ SEM/EDS/ TEM/ XRD), mass spectrometry (MALDI TOF MS/ LC-MS/MS), Edman sequencing, molecular biology (PCR, DNA/RNA sequencing, Bioinformatics), Solid phase peptide synthesis, followed by various physio/pharmacological, toxicity, cell culture and enzyme assays. He has won more than 15 Research Projects and has vast national and international collaboration and coordination.
