Major Contribution

1) Developed and implemented the grid-characteristic method and hybrid grid-characteristic schemes for the numerical solution of spatial dynamic problems of the mechanics of deformable solids on regular and irregular computational grids, the joint method of smooth particles and the grid-characteristic method. 

2) Numerical solutions to problems of biomechanics with medical applications, problems of high-speed interaction of deformable bodies, asteroid safety, the impact of laser radiation and beams of charged particles on the shells of apparatuses, propagation of elastic and elastoplastic waves in soil media, global seismic, seismic exploration, seismic resistance of structures, development of the Arctic shelf of the Russian Federation, strength of composite structures, destruction of structures under the influence of dynamic loads, safety of railways.
