Fields of Scholarship and Research Interests

Professor Severino Alves Júnior graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte in 1992. He completed his PhD in chemistry from Federal University of Pernambuco in 1998, in Recife, in 1999. He carried out his first post-doctorate internship at CisBio International Division in vitro Technologies, in France. The years late, he carried out his second post-doctorate at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto, in Portugal.

He has experience in the field of chemistry with an emphasis on coordination fields working mainly on the following topics: Luminescence of lanthanides complexes, incandescence, synthesis of supramolecules, photonic markers for the auxiliary diagnosis of breast and prostate cancer, drug delivery, Metal Organic Frameworks, Gunshot residue markers and synthesis of bioinspired hydrogels aimed at cancer phototheranostics.
