The Core Academy is glad to share exciting news for our fellow, Professor Slobodan Simonovic.

Professor Simonovic have recently received three significant recognitions: 

(i)                  Distinguished Professorship – Hohai University, Nanjing, China. 

(ii)                 Eminent Scholarship – China Institute for Water Resources and Hydropower Research, Beijing, China 

(iii)                Honorary Professorship – Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute – Nanjing, China.

Professor Slobodan P. Simonovic is currently Director of Engineering Studies Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR) and Professor Emeritus and Adjunct Professor Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, The University of Western Ontario.

He has made seminal contributions to the development of systems engineering approaches to the planning, designing and managing of complex water resources systems in the search for sustainable and robust physical and societal solutions, based on stakeholders’ value systems and ethical principles. He has utilized multiple approaches for addressing subjective and objective uncertainties in managing water resources systems.

Professor Simonovic was elected to the Core Academy as a Fellow in the Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
