We are delighted to share an exciting scientific event on behalf of Professor Dieter Bimberg, newly elected Fellow of the International Core Academy of Sciences and Humanities, who serves as the International Chair of VCSEL-Day 2025 (https://www.asian-vcsel.com/).

Introduction
Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers (VCSELs) have emerged as decisive devices driving innovation across a wide range of high-volume technological systems. For more than 18 years, the European VCSEL community has met in an informal but vibrant setting at rotating venues, fostering the presentation of cutting-edge research and lively exchanges on how to meet future technological challenges.
Building on this strong tradition, the Third Asian VCSEL Day (AVD) will once again bring together leading scientists, engineers, and industry experts to explore the latest research, innovations, and applications in VCSEL technology. Following the great success of the inaugural 2023 and 2024 events, this year’s edition will feature distinguished speakers from across Asia, alongside special guests from Germany and Russia.
The 3rd Asian VCSEL Day will be held from October 12 to 14, 2025, and is organized by the Bimberg Chinese–German Center for Green Photonics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences at CIOMP in Changchun, in collaboration with the Tokyo Institute of Technology and Light Publishing Group.
About Asian VCSEL-Day 2025
The Asian VCSEL Day has rapidly grown into one of the most significant annual gatherings for the VCSEL research and industry community. The first two events, held in 2023 and 2024, brought together nearly 250 leading experts, researchers, industry professionals, and young scientists from across Asia.
This year’s 3rd edition promises to further strengthen this tradition of excellence, offering:
A premier platform for knowledge exchange among researchers, engineers, and technology developers;
Keynote lectures from internationally recognized leaders in VCSEL science and technology;
Opportunities for young scientists and professionals to present their work and engage with top researchers and potential employers in this rapidly evolving field.
