The International Core Academy of Sciences and Humanities is pleased to announce the election of 24 distinguished scholars to its Fellowship, in recognition of their outstanding and sustained contributions to research, scholarship, academic leadership, and the advancement of knowledge across the sciences and humanities.

The newly elected Fellows bring together a remarkable breadth of intellectual achievement, spanning the natural sciences, engineering and applied sciences, medicine, information technology, social sciences, and the humanities. Their work has advanced fundamental discovery, technological innovation, public understanding, institutional leadership, and the strengthening of international academic cooperation. Election to the Fellowship of CORE Academy is a lifetime distinction conferred upon individuals whose achievements have made significant and enduring contributions to their fields. The newly elected Fellows join an international scholarly community dedicated to academic excellence, open intellectual exchange, and the responsible advancement of knowledge for the benefit of humanity.

In an age when scientific, technological, social, and humanistic questions are increasingly intertwined, the work of scholars cannot be confined within narrow borders of discipline, region, or method. James J. Heckman

One of the most influential economists of his generation, Professor Heckman is recognized for foundational contributions to econometrics, labor economics, causal policy evaluation, selective samples, human development, and life-cycle skill formation. 

Klaus F. Zimmermann

A leading labor and migration economist, Professor Zimmermann is recognized for influential research on population economics, migration, labor markets, economic policy, and the development of international research networks in economics.

Francis B. Nyamnjoh

Peter Gruss

Jaime Urrutia-Fucugauchi
Professor of Geophysics, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México; Director, Chicxulub Institute of Advanced Studies; Member and former President, Mexican Academy of Sciences
An eminent geophysicist, Professor Urrutia-Fucugauchi is recognized for his work in paleomagnetism, tectonics, stratigraphy, and especially the study of the Chicxulub impact crater and the Cretaceous–Paleogene boundary.

Seamus J. Martin

A highly cited molecular biologist and immunologist, Professor Martin is recognized for foundational work on programmed cell death, apoptosis, caspase signaling, inflammation, and their links to cancer and immune function.
