On 7 July 2026, a delegation from CORE Academy met Professor Klaus F. Zimmermann in Guangzhou and formally presented his Fellowship Certificate. Professor Zimmermann was elected a Fellow of CORE Academy in the Division of Social Sciences in April 2026, in recognition of his distinguished contributions to labor economics, population economics, migration, and international academic cooperation.
The delegation comprised Professor Li Lei, a member of the Executive Board of CORE Academy, and Raymond J. Wu, Executive Vice Secretary-General of CORE Academy. During the meeting, they exchanged views with Professor Zimmermann on global scientific collaboration, the development of international scholarly networks, and opportunities to strengthen academic exchange across countries and disciplines.
Professor Zimmermann is President of the Global Labor Organization and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Population Economics. He is Professor Emeritus at the University of Bonn and Maastricht University and a member and Senator of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. His research has made influential contributions to labor markets, migration, population economics, and economic policy, while his academic leadership has helped foster extensive international research networks.
